Style and color painting

Style and color painting

Make the style of your home, cottage or city, in New Jersey according to the shades that suit it. Because painting colors are not only about fashion but also decoration.

The painting color palette should reflect your taste and support the overall style of the house. See how you can give your space the feel, look and aroma of your favorite decorative trends.

If you have adopted the modern, contemporary style for your home, use a clean and neutral painting color combination. The walls should be from the wide range of shades of white, cream and beige, toner, gray or brown.

Choose fabrics and furniture in close tones, so that they compose a neutral theme, while the boldest painting colors are chosen for accessories – and sparingly.

Natural materials are ideally combined with white color in a cottage in New Jersey. In order not to become monotonous, include other painting colors in smaller doses, e.g. a blanket.

White is the ultimate painting color for the minimal and is the basis of this style, in walls, floor and furniture. Alternatively try neutral colors or colors of nature: beige, toner, stone colors or even green, which will be in a very light shade, cool and pale.

Use the above colors in most of the space and choose some more intense -but always harmonious- contrasting colors for some pillows, a vase, even an entire wall or a piece of furniture, e.g. a sofa.

Choose a single color for intensity. Do not try to combine more colors, because you will lose the simple, stylish result. Bright red is an impressive and always up-to-date intense contrasting color, but do not hesitate to choose your favorite color.

If your style loves island style, with its sparkling whites and bold contrasts, then Mediterranean colors should dominate. Adopt it by combining white with blue, light blue and bright green or pistachio. In some areas shades of yellow or terracotta are mixed with these shades, while brown and black are present in the finishes of the furniture. The painting colors that match the traditional village houses differ depending on the areas, the traditions and of course the local materials.

For a quiet, relaxing backdrop, paint the surface of a piece of furniture a color similar to the one you have chosen for the doors and windows.

They usually contain tones of low to medium intensity, such as light green, light blue, stone gray and earth red. The colors here do not have to be uniform. Get inspired by sun-dried fabrics.

A more modern version of your cottage could include red and black paint elements in its decoration. For example with the red terracotta you can line the floor of the house, while the black can be chosen more easily in the objects, e.g. wrought iron furniture.

Tips for deep cleaning of your home

For many of us, cleaning the house is a tedious task and a painful punishment. We often make the decision to clean our house only after our house looks like a battlefield. But in reality, cleaning the house can be done easily and quickly, if you know a few basic tricks. If you face problems with the functionality of your toilet, call Αποφράξεις Αντωνίου.

Here are some tips for deep cleaning of your home.

The basics

To dust the house, take a piece of cloth and pass it over all surfaces (from furniture, shelves, decorations, frames and paintings). You can even get the special dust cloths with static electricity that you will find in supermarkets to make dusting even easier.

For the floor, carpets and rugs, the must is the vacuum cleaner, as you probably know. Pay attention to the areas that usually pick up the most dirt such as corners, corners behind doors, floor under hangers and monks, floor under sofas and beds, floor under radiators, skirting boards and places where many cables are collected.

If the floor of the house is made of tile or marble, it is good to mop it once in a while to clean any stains from shoes, food and liquids. If it is wooden, use the special liquid cleaner for wooden floors that you will find in supermarkets.

Finally, linen (sheets, towels, pillowcases), it is good to change them once a week and wash them. Hand towels can be changed more often – every three days – due to use.

Βathroom cleaning

Use a spray bath cleaner and spray the basin, bathtub and sink. Next, wipe the spots with a betex. If the bottom of the basin is muddy, add a little bleach and rub the spot well with the brush, to completely remove the mud. Then pull out the cistern.

If you do not want to use bleach, you can clean the bathroom basin with baking soda and vinegar – pour soda, spray it with vinegar and rub well with the brush. You can do the same with the bathtub, only here you will need a hard sponge with which, after pouring soda, you will rub well the “difficult” points and especially the slime that collects around the drain valve.

One point that needs special attention in the bathroom basin is the one that is “hidden” through the rim of the basin (where the cleaning-aromatic usually enters), and which catches odour quite easily. For this point there are special “duck” type cleaners, which due to their shape allow you to clean the specific area. Allow the thick liquid to act for a few minutes and then pull out the cistern.

If the “phone” of the shower has caught salts, leave it overnight in a basin of water and vinegar solution. The next day it will shine. Alternatively, you can use a special salt cleaner. For bathroom tiles, use half a teaspoon of vinegar in three liters of water and mop or scrub them if necessary with a hard sponge. Before mopping, vacuum the tiles to remove any hairs or fluff.

Finally, for shower curtains that collect salts, the easiest solution, if they are made of fabric, is to put them in the washing machine in a short program for colored ones. If they are plastic, you should rub them with a sponge that you will have “watered” with soda and vinegar. If you still have a shower with a door you will need a little more work, with a sponge and liquid detergent for the salts in the joints. If the plastic curtains are moldy, spray with Bleach, leave it on and rinse in the shower.

Back to the kitchen

On kitchen surfaces where food is in contact, it is advisable to avoid cleaners with strong disinfectant action, unless we choose a cleaner specifically for this purpose.

So, if you want to clean benches and tables you can spray them with a solution of water and soda or lemon and then wipe them with kitchen paper. In the same way once a week you can clean the surfaces of cabinets and drawers. Once a week you should clean with an antimicrobial cleaner (containing bleach) and the handles of cabinets, drawers, refrigerator, electric stove and dishwasher.

For the inside of the oven, mix three parts vinegar and one part soda, remove the grills from the oven and pour the mixture into the bottom of the oven. After the foam “settles”, rub the bottom very well with a sponge and then the walls. Add vinegar and baking soda if needed to cover all surfaces. For difficult stains, use a wire, while if some stains persist, leave the mixture for ten minutes and then continue rubbing. After cleaning, wipe the oven surfaces with a damp vetex. Of course, in order not to have to sit for hours rubbing, it will “loosen” your hands to clean it after each use.

For the sink and the faucet, use the same liquid detergent that you will use in the bathroom. Emphasize the area behind the sink, where we usually touch the sponge and detergent, because it accumulates a lot of stench. There you will need to rub it enough with a sponge. If you want a professional disinfection of your home call Αποφράξεις Αθήνα.

In the case of the microwave oven you can place a cup with a little water and a lot of vinegar and turn on the oven until the liquid boils. Then dampen a cloth with hot vinegar and wipe the inside of the oven. Wash the fridge with warm soapy water, wipe it and then rub the inside with a sponge dampened with baking soda to dispel odors.

Solutions and tips for your washing machine

Solutions and tips for your washing machine

It is a fact that a malfunction in the washing machine would make your daily life quite difficult, as it is a valuable tool for every household. Knowing the importance and convenience it provides, we have gathered all the information you need to know in order to effectively deal with a malfunction – SERVICE ΕΠΙΣΚΕΥΕΣ ΠΛΥΝΤΗΡΙΑ ΑΘΗΝΑ – in your washing machine.

1. I have set the program normally, but the washing machine does not start washing

First, check if you have closed the door properly. Next, you need to press the program start button. If the problem persists, check that the water supply is open and unobstructed.

2. The washing machine “moves” during spinning. What could be wrong?

The most likely cause is that the legs of the device are not fixed. First of all, you should have taken care of the correct placement of the washing machine. This means that the mounting surface must be stable and flat. Otherwise, the feet of the device will not press evenly on the floor. Soft floor coverings are unsuitable, e.g. carpets.

Most washing machines have two adjustable legs on the front, with which the unevenness of the floor can be equalized. Turn the washing machine slightly backwards and, depending on the condition of the floor, adjust their washer feet. Then check the washing machine support fuse and repeat the process if necessary.

3. Strange noises and / or vibrations are heard

Noises at the beginning and end of water pumping are normal. Otherwise, check that the load you have put in the washing machine exceeds the recommended weight.

Depending on the program you have chosen and the clothes you have put in the bucket, the recommended weight varies. As well as when the load is small, the clothes move freely in the drum causing vibrations. These vibrations become particularly intense during the spin, where the washing machine takes the most turns.

Noise during washing can also come from coins or objects that have been forgotten in the pockets of some clothes.

4. He did not squeeze the clothes as usual with the result that they are very wet

The most probable cause is that an error occurred in the balancing of the clothes and the number of revolutions – during the final spin – decreased automatically. Check that the load you have put in the washing machine exceeds the recommended weight. If so, remove some clothing and activate the spin program.

Always place small and large clothes in the bucket together, in order to achieve a better distribution of the load.

5. I take the washed clothes out of the washing machine and they are full of foam

This usually means that a large amount of detergent has been used or the detergent is unsuitable. In any case, creating too much foam means inefficient washing. Carefully read the recommended detergent dosage and / or use a different detergent.

6. The clothes do not clean well with liquid detergent. What can I do wrong?

Liquid detergents usually do not contain bleach. That is why stains are not always removed, such as e.g. from fruit, coffee or tea. On the contrary, powdered detergents contain bleach. It is good to use a different detergent, depending on the washing needs. In any case, never put liquid detergent with bleaching powder in the case.

7. I used detergent powder and there are residues on the washed clothes

Powder detergents contain granules that do not dissolve in water to help soften it. These grains stick to the clothes. After drying the clothes, try to remove the residues with the help of a brush. It is also good to wash dark clothes with liquid detergents. These usually do not contain grains.

8. There is a lot of detergent residue left in the detergent compartment

The most likely cause is to have used detergent powder along with softener. Thoroughly clean the detergent case and in the future, always apply the detergent first and then the softener. If the problem persists, check if the filter is clogged in the water supply. Make sure you clean it at least once a month.

It is very important to remember…

All modern washing machines come with a display and / or special control lights to help you repair a fault. This means that you should read the instructions for use of your device carefully, so that you know how you can repair a fault and / or in which cases you should call a specialized technician . Find out today about the laundry repair service of and its cost.

Tips to “shield” the washing machine from unpleasant odours

The detergent and softener is certainly necessary to be your clothes clean, soft and fragrant after each wash.

However, they are likely to cause bacteria to grow in the washing machine, causing the appliance to start to smell unpleasant. This “side effect” occurs more often in recent years, as low temperature programs are used more and more often  to prevent the slightest wear of clothes, but also to save electricity in washing. As soon as odours are created in the washing machine, they will start to pass into your laundry and thus it will stop exuding cleanliness.

However, you can easily keep odours away from your device and your clothes. All you need to do is follow the tips below, which will ensure that the washing machine will always remain clean and healthy.

Dry the appliance after washing

Each time the washing machine is finished , make sure to dry the parts that have moisture left. Wipe the door and the “drawer” of the detergent-softener with a soft and dry cloth.

Especially if your washing machine is front-loading , do not neglect the door hinge, thoroughly cleaning the crease at the bottom, where there is always a small amount of water left.

Always leave the door open

Bacteria grow in dark and humid environments, such as your bin once you take out freshly washed clothes. Therefore, after you “get” the moisture with a cloth, you should not close the door.

Instead, it should be left open on a permanent basis, like the detergent “drawer”, to ventilate the inside of the appliance.

Take off your clothes as soon as the program ends

Be sure to put a washing machine when you are sure that you will be home as soon as the program is over, to take the clothes out of the bin immediately. Otherwise, the humidity of the clothes, with the washing machine door closed, is an “ideal recipe” for the growth of bacteria.

Another reason to empty the tub immediately is that your clothes will not wrinkle too much when washed. Therefore, you have a double motivation not to start washing e.g. before you go to work or before you go to bed.

Pay attention to the dosage of the detergent

Instead of giving you better cleanliness, too much detergent can cause a lot of problems with your appliance and your clothes. First of all, it is possible that at the end of the program it is not completely dissolved and therefore a percentage of it remains in the bin, thus causing the development of bad breath.

If you abuse the detergent, its residues may also begin to accumulate in the pipes of the appliance, increasing the risk that not all the dirty washing water will “pass” into the drain, but part of it will return to the appliance. A scenario that, of course, also favours the growth of bacteria.

Take advantage of the high temperatures for disinfection

Use a high temperature program frequently to thoroughly clean the tub and piping. Preferably choose a program of 90 degrees Celsius, or generally with a temperature of not less than 60 degrees Celsius, adding a very small amount of detergent and, of course, without putting clothes in the washing machine.

The frequency with which you should use this appliance “maintenance” program depends on the number of washing machines you install. So, you have a family and you wash often, then it is good to use it once a month. If you wash more often, such a program of high temperatures every two months is enough.

Best unclogging methods for your toilet bowl under 10 minutes

Best unclogging methods for your toilet bowl under 10 minutes

Have you had any problems Αποφράξεις Αντωνίου– with your toilet bowl lately? Do you feel that it is almost clogged and it is not working normally? If you answered yes to the previous questions then you need to read this article as we are going to discuss the best unclogging methods for your toilet bowl under 10 minutes.

Toilet bowls tend to clog when you are not making a right use of them. Throwing paper towels in them or not cleaning them properly might lead to the toilet blocking or just not working properly. Fear no more because we have some great tips on how to unclog your toilet if needed.

The first and probably most effective way to unclog your toilet bowl would be to use a plunger. You can basically find one any big super market or at a hardware store. Plungers are using the pressure to release your pipes from whatever is blocking them.

Making continuous moves, push the plunger up and down your toilet drain to create the pressure needed to unclog it. It will probably take you between 2 and 10 minutes to do so, so be patient. If you do not make it then you will need to move to another method. We have some other methods Αποφράξεις Πειραιάς– that you can give a shot.

Wire hanger

The second method includes a wire hanger that all of us have lying around at our houses. You will use this hanger to make a do it yourself (DIY) snake drain. Snake drains are used to push or pull anything that is blocking your pipes and drain. Take the wire hanger and bend it until it is completely straight.

Use the one end of the hanger to hold it and the other to push or pull out anything that is blocking your toilet and creates overflow or abnormal function. Take your time and do not rush yourself. In a few minutes the paper or other item that is causing the blockage will be taken out and your toilet will return to its normal function.

This method might be very effective but it is also very invasive. The wire hanger could cause a great deal of damage to your pipes so please do not use force. If you try the hanger method and see no results move on to another method or call the professionals.

Hot water and soap

Hot water could not be missing off the list of the best unclogging methods for your toilet bowl under 10 minutes. Hot water works wonders in basically anything related to cleaning purposes. Before you try anything else, try using hot water and your purpose will be fulfilled!

In this case, take some dish soap and pour it in your bowl. It does not need to be fancy or anything special, regular dish soap will do the trick. Boil a kettle of water or a big pot of water, let it cool a little and then pour it over the soap. The dish detergent will act as a lubricant to help get the item that is clogging the bowl softer and the hot water will push any remainders right down the drain.

Be careful when using hot water though because you could crack your toilet bowl. Never throw boiling water directly to your toilet -especially during winter- as it could cause damage to it.

Use physics to unplug your toilet

This method is very similar to the plunger that is also using the laws of physics to help you get rid of your clog. It is basically a do it yourself plunger by using just a single plastic bottle of water. You will need a big bottle of water, a bucket and a pair of gloves.

Before we begin, we should tell you that this method could easily go wrong and definitely get a lot messy. Start of by removing as much eater as possible. You could use a small container and a bucket or even a vacuum for liquids (it just would not be sanitary). After removing the water, proceed to fill your bottle with hot -not boiling- water. Then you are going to need to wear your gloves.

Put your thumb at the edge of the bottle to block the water from exiting the bottle. Placing the bottle in the drain -with your thumb upwards- push the bottle to release the water down the drain. You could use the help of another person here for the pressure part. The water pressure could push whatever is blocking your toilet -Αποφράξεις Μαρούσι- to help release your pipes.

Professional drain cleaning crew

If you have tried everything we mentioned above or if you simply do not have the patience of unclogging the toilet by yourself then we suggest you to call a professional draining crew.  The experts will probably need more than 10 minutes to unclog your toilet but they will definitely have it done under 30 minutes.

Furthermore, the professionals will know how to deal with any additional damage that might occur while unclogging your toilet bowl such as a pipe burst for example, so you will be covered in case something like that happens.

If you are interested in a professional drain cleaning crew then you need to trust Αποφράξεις Αργυρούπολη for their excellent services and experience.

We hope that our best unclogging methods for your toilet bowl under 10 minutes were helpful and that you will try at least one of them before calling the experts.
