Trump asks US judge to force Twitter to restart his account


Former US President Donald Trump questioned a federal judge in Florida on Friday to talk to Twitter to restore his account, which the business removed in January citing a risk of incitement of violence.

Trump submitted a ask for for preliminary injunction towards Twitter in the U.S. District Courtroom for the Southern District of Florida, arguing the social media firm was “coerced” by users of the US Congress to suspend his account.

Twitter and various other social media platforms banned Trump from their expert services soon after a mob of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol in a fatal riot on Jan. 6.

That assault followed a speech by Trump in which he reiterated false claims that his election reduction in November was simply because of prevalent fraud, an assertion rejected by several courts and state election officers.

Twitter declined to remark on the filing when contacted by Reuters.
